Every propane delivery truck has a stack of valves — internal tank valves, external plumbing valves, delivery valves at the reel, safety valves and pressure relief, and the metering valves that make sure the customer gets what the ticket says. Propane truck valve repair is about diagnosing which valve is at fault and either rebuilding it, replacing it, or replacing the packing or seals. All of it has to be done to code with propane-rated components; we don’t shortcut this kind of work.

Delivery Pumps and Hose Reels
The pump on a bobtail is often a sliding-vane pump that moves the propane from the tank through the meter to the customer’s tank. When it slows down, deliveries take longer and driver time is wasted. We rebuild these pumps — new vanes, seals, and bearings — and pressure-test them. Hose reels have their own wear points — the drive motor, the brake, and especially the pressure-holding swivel. We rebuild these in the same visit.
Bobtails, Cargo Tankers, and Skid Tanks
Most of our propane truck valve repair work is on bobtail delivery trucks (the 2500- to 3499-gallon delivery trucks), but we also see cargo-tanker trailers hauling propane to distribution and skid-mounted tanks with delivery hardware. Whichever kind you run, the internal components are similar and the failure modes are similar.
