Lube Trailer For Sale — New & Used
If you keep iron running in the field, on a job site, or out at a remote location, you already know the value of bringing the service to the machine instead of dragging the machine to the shop. A lube trailer for sale is the tool that lets you do it — fresh oil, grease, coolant, used-oil recovery, and air, all on a single towable platform. Ames Hydraulics builds, sells, and services mobile lube trailers here in Ames, Iowa, for farms, contractors, frac and drilling support, and fleets across Central Iowa.
We carry both new builds and used units when we have them, so whether you’re outfitting a first trailer or replacing one that’s worn out, we can usually put a lube trailer for sale in front of you that fits the work and the budget.
What a Lube Trailer Carries
A mobile lube trailer is built around tanks, pumps, reels, and a power source, all sized to the service interval and the equipment you maintain. A typical build includes some mix of the following, and we configure it to what you actually service:
- Fresh oil tanks. One or several compartments for engine oil, hydraulic oil, and gear oil, so you can carry everything a service call needs in one trip.
- Grease system. A pump and reel for chassis and pin lubrication out in the field.
- Used-oil recovery. An evacuation tank and pump so the old oil comes back with you instead of getting left behind — which keeps you clean and compliant.
- Coolant and DEF. Optional tanks for antifreeze and diesel exhaust fluid depending on the fleet.
- Air and power. An onboard compressor or air system to drive the pumps and run impact tools, powered by the trailer’s own engine or PTO.
- Hose reels. Spring-return reels for each product so the operator isn’t fighting hose all day.
Who Runs a Lube Trailer
The operators who get the most out of a mobile lube trailer are the ones whose equipment can’t easily come to a shop. Row-crop and cattle operations servicing tractors, combines, and irrigation engines spread across miles of ground. Excavating and dirt contractors keeping dozers, excavators, and articulated trucks greased and oiled on the job site. Frac and drilling support crews running service to remote pads. Municipal and fleet shops that maintain plows, mowers, and equipment parked in yards all over the county. If your downtime happens where there’s no lift and no drain, a lube trailer turns a tow into a fifteen-minute service call.
New vs. Used Lube Trailers
Both have their place, and the right answer depends on how hard you’ll run it:
- New lube trailer. Built to your spec — you choose the tank sizes, the number of products, the pump and reel layout, and the trailer rating. Best when you have a specific service routine and want the unit to match it exactly with a full service life ahead of it.
- Used lube trailer for sale. A lower entry cost for an operation that’s getting started or needs a second unit. When we have a used lube trailer for sale, we go through it before it sells — pumps, reels, plumbing, and tanks — so you know what you’re buying.
If you’re not sure which way to go, tell us how many machines you service and how far you travel, and we’ll point you to the build that makes sense rather than the one that costs the most.
Built and Backed by a Real Shop
The difference between buying a lube trailer for sale from us and ordering one sight-unseen is that we’re the shop that also fixes them. We fabricate the tanks and mounts, plumb the pumps and reels, and wire the controls in-house, and we service what we sell. If a pump quits or a reel seizes a year from now, you have a local shop to call instead of shipping the whole trailer across the country.
Outfitting a lube trailer is closely related to the rest of our upfit work — PTO and pump systems, tanks, and custom mounting are the same skills we bring to fuel and DEF trucks. If you want to see the broader picture of how we set trucks up to do work in the field, our truck upfitting page lays it out.
