Wet Kit For Sale — 2-Line & 3-Line Semi Truck Kits

If you’re shopping for a wet kit for sale, you already know what you need it to do: run a dump trailer, a live-floor, a blower, a hot oiler, or whatever hydraulic equipment your operation pulls. What you may not know is which kit is right for your truck, your pump flow, and your trailer — and that’s where most online listings leave you stranded. Ames Hydraulics sells and builds wet kits for semi trucks here in Ames, Iowa, and we spec every kit to the truck it’s going on instead of selling you a box of parts and wishing you luck.

We stock and supply complete 2-line and 3-line setups for owner-operators, fleets, and farm trucks across Central Iowa. Whether you want the parts to install yourself or you want us to bolt it on, we can put the right wet kit for sale in front of you and tell you straight what it will and won’t run.

What Comes in a Wet Kit

A semi truck wet kit is the hydraulic system that takes power off the transmission and turns it into the flow and pressure your trailer or equipment needs. A complete kit is built around a handful of core components, and the quality of each one is what separates a kit that lasts from one that’s leaking in a season:

  • PTO (power take-off). Mounted to the transmission, the PTO is the heart of the system. It has to match your transmission and your duty cycle, so we match the PTO to your truck before anything else gets ordered.
  • Hydraulic pump. Sized to the flow your equipment needs — a dump trailer and a blower have very different appetites. We spec pump displacement to the work, not to a generic catalog number.
  • Reservoir (oil tank). Frame-mount or behind-the-cab, steel or aluminum, sized to hold enough oil to keep the system cool under load.
  • Valves, hoses, and fittings. The control valve, the high-pressure and return lines, and the fittings that tie it all together and keep it from leaking.
  • Controls. In-cab or fender-mount controls so the driver can run the system safely from where the job gets done.

2-Line vs. 3-Line: Which Wet Kit Do You Need

This is the question that trips up most buyers, and it’s worth getting right before you buy a wet kit for sale online and find out it won’t run your trailer. The short version:

  • 2-line wet kit. A pressure line and a return line. This is the common setup for dump trailers and any equipment that uses a single-acting or basic double-acting cylinder. Simpler, fewer parts, and the right call for a lot of trucks.
  • 3-line wet kit. Adds a dedicated return-to-tank line that lets oil come back to the reservoir without going through the pump. This is what a live-floor trailer, a walking-floor, or a high-flow application typically wants, because it keeps oil temperatures down and protects the pump on long, continuous runs.

Tell us what you’re pulling and how hard you run it, and we’ll tell you whether a 2-line or 3-line kit is the smart buy. We’d rather sell you the kit that works than the kit with the biggest sticker.

Buy the Parts or Have It Installed

Some of our customers want the wet kit for sale as a parts package and they’ll do the install themselves — we’re glad to supply it and answer questions along the way. Plenty of others want it done right the first time, and that’s where our shop comes in. We do full wet kit installation on site in Ames: mounting the PTO and pump, plumbing the lines, mounting the reservoir and controls, and pressure testing the system before the truck leaves. If you’d rather have it handled start to finish, see our wet kit installation page for how that works.

Why Buy Your Wet Kit From Ames Hydraulics

There are cheaper boxes online. What you don’t get with those is someone who has actually built these systems and will stand behind the parts. When you buy a wet kit for sale from us, you get components matched to your truck, honest advice on 2-line versus 3-line, and a shop you can call when you have a question six months down the road. We’re a full hydraulic and heavy equipment shop, so if your truck needs hoses, a cylinder, or other work while it’s here, we can knock that out too.

We serve owner-operators and fleets all over Central Iowa, and we offer free pickup and delivery within 60 miles of Ames if you’d like us to handle the install. Stop guessing which kit to order off a website. If you want a wet kit for sale that’s matched to your truck and backed by a shop that does this work every day, call or text Ames Hydraulics at 515-292-2599, or come by 210 Freel Dr, Ames, IA 50010, Monday through Friday, 7AM–5PM. Tell us what you’re hauling and we’ll get you the right kit.
